Paramour

A wild ride on a modern, musical funhouse cart. Featuring an amazing piece of music by Anna Howard Meredith, a British composer and performer of electronic and acoustic music. Meredith is a former composer-in-residence with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, she was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire for services to music. Her second studio album, Fibs, will be released on 25 October 2019. The video features “Paramour” one of the tracks on her new album.

The video is perhaps one of the greatest music videos ever produced. It takes music video to a new level. Here, a wild, funhouse cart ride. The creatures that appear on the ride are musicians, playing their various parts or pieces into the overall song. They appear almost as pop-up entities in our funhouse. But they make music by hitting a cymbol or playing some horn or keyboard.

Check out Anna’s website. Finally, someone to carry on the avant-garde musical torch in England after Ann Dudley and The Art of Noise. But combined with the incredible music, one of the most innovative and creative videos ever produced for a piece of music. The only comparison that comes to mind is the old carnival carts that ventured into the scary carnival Funhouse in a cart. In effect, the eye in this video is the camera eye, peering around the world of this funhouse.

One of the most powerful musical videos ever produced. In fact, one of the most powerful short videos ever produced.

(In effect, seeing the world at one’s point in time as a convincing short video or screenplay or film. (Or, even an umbrella film franchise).
