When I lived out in Santa Rosa from 1998 to 2002, the magnificent Annadel Park was right behind my home in the Valley of the Moon and I hiked every trail in the park. The music playing on my car radio when I first saw the Valley of the Moon was Seal’s Human Being.
In 2009, I returned with my oldest son Alex to hike one of its trails again and made the short video above of this hike. It seemed appropriate I put on a cut from Seal’s album for the music on the video.
Now, 15 years later in December of 2023, I’ve returned to Santa Rosa again to be here for the birth of my step-daughter’s first child.
I plan on another hike in Annadel in celebration for the newest member of the family.
