The Songs of Nick Drake

I’m just beginning to become a fan of Nick Drake. After listening to a few amazing pieces, I downloaded his latest album The Endless Colored Ways. It is made up of various artists influenced by Drake and their own interpretations of one of his songs. What more of an endorsement of one’s music do you need these days? Just look at all the titles appearing on the first part of the video above The names of bands and individual artists influenced by the music of Nick Drake.

The fact that few know about Nick Drake today is a real tragedy as he was behind so many important bands and musicians. And just music thinking for new ways to express itself in his time. The names on the first part of the video, contributors to this incredible collection of music on the album, are really the best testaments to the importance of Nick Drake to American music.

  1. Yes, COVID might be a good dividing line between the old and the new world, or perhaps more specifically, that the government’s FINANCIAL REACTION to COVID was the final dividing line between the worlds. Prior to COVID, it seems we had reached the point where a majority of individuals (voters) had come to believe that bad (irresponsible) government benefited their lifestyles — after the government’s handling of COVID, it seems a majority of corporations have also reached the point where they believe that bad (irresponsible) government benefits their motives, as well. Bottom Line Question: Have we reached the point where all elements of the Private Sector now believe that bad (irresponsible) Public Sector government is to the benefit of all in the USA? Just a question.
