We lived in Palm Desert, California from 2012 to 2015 and the above photos were taken at this time. The film features my two oldest sons Alex and Chris who hiked with me a lot during those years in the desert. Music created with the ASM Hydrosynth Explorer.
Scenes in the short film include Mt. Eisenhower, Rancho Mirage Flamingos, Villa Porta Fino, the Hopalong Cassidy Trail, Cactus Spring Trail, Oasis along the San Andreas Fault Line, the top of Mt. San Jacinto (where a scene from Hitchcocks North by Northwest was filmed), the Anza Borrego desert by the Salton Sea and Mt. San Jacinto photographed from Desert Hot Springs.

Do you miss the desert? Perhaps not the heat; the beauty is uncommon. Lovely to see…
Professional quality production, and the actors were pretty darn good, too !
Your sons look enough alike that had it not been for the shirts, I might have thought they were one and the same.
John loved these pictures! I can understand why you love it there. The sky in each picture was
fantastic!! I also loved the mountains and scenery you captured so well. Thanks for sharing these with me. Your sons look a lot taller than you John. Nice they could be in these photos also. Barbara
What desert? I only saw California urban sprawl. You see all those crisscross straight lines which are streets demarcating blocks of houses? When I was a boy, they weren’t there, it was just sand, tumbleweed and sidewinders.
