Reality Check

Watching the Debates

Symbol Versus Mythology

Brand New Day

A good way to check one’s sense of reality today is to watch some mass event in life live and make a decision on how you feel about this. Your emotions and reactions to the event. Make this determination right after the event without watching, reading or hearing any comment on this mass event.

I call this a type of check of reality today in our world of AI and fake news. A mass event and reactions to it is a good way to test one’s relationship to current reality. Or, the current definitions of it.

The most important test for this personal reality check was the recent presidential debate between President Biden and former President Donald Trump.

After the debate tonight, the feeling on almost all liberal, Democrat media is a feeling of deep concern that Biden is not fit for office. Trump is a powerful debater for anyone. But he is going against a person who should not be running the nation. It is not a question of political party but of aging we all go through. This was really the debate it was tonight: between a coherent person and a person who has lost mental facilities. If someone didn’t see this they’re living in a parallel universe.

Yet parallel universes have been a major thing in the gaslighting of the American public on so many things. Basically, the major gas lighter White House Communications Director. The one who defines reality for the populace which is not the same reality most see and experience.

The fact is, the President was shown to be a person not capable of any type of leadership today. So much better for him to take a rest for these final years of his life. It even seemed cruel to even put him into the debate. Cruel by his family. Cruel to me it seemed.

Behind all of this is media image versus live image. In other words, politicians created via image and sound bites versus those created through live events. In many ways, this was really the contrast between the two candidates for President of the United States: Biden and Trump.

In all of the differences between Biden and Trump, in many ways its is the opposition of a carefully developed symbol versus a symbol molded by being a populist voice.

Watching the debate tonight should be confirmation to any thinking person that the nation is being led by an elderly man who should have a well-deserved period of rest for his final years. It is the first time that a leader is created through image versus one created through live events with the populace.

Whatever one’s politics, this has been a major contrast between the images of Biden and the live events of Trump. Biden’s image was always a protected image while Trump’s image has always been out front with his live rally’s around the nation.

The news on all the channels about the presidential debate tonight was a resounding win for Trump. I agreed on this.

It was perhaps the end of that carefully crafted – and guarded – image of Biden. In the last four years, this image has been more tightly crafted so that the public sees very little of the spontaneous Biden. This image is pieced together through various events. Biden is supported by media and images while Trump is supported by live, rally events. (Like the winning golf tournament that Trump mentioned in the debates).

The difference is important.

Tonight’s debate, it seems to me, should be proof to any sane listener that the nation has no leadership today. For the first time, the machine that controls the short images and soundbites of Biden allows Biden to participate in a live debate.

The debate tonight seems to many journalists, commentators and politicians ultimately the end of the Biden administration. Their was a growing belief from the many viewers that Biden was in no way a leader today. The contrast between former president Trump and current present Biden has never been so clear to anyone who watched the debate.

Again, it was a time when the image protected President Biden had a confrontation with real time television. Biden came out the big loser.

Talk tonight on cable TV channels is all about the future of the nation. For the first time, the nation sees on live television what their leader looks like. They see behind the defenses PR puts out each day in her conferences. And can worry about the future in front on us all.

The Democrats with Biden have gone to an extreme in creating a candidate based on short images and soundbites. The contrast to this was former president Donald Trump who was known to voters more through his reaction to the populace in live rallys.

In many ways, this was the real clash in the debates tonight. That of a carefully maintained public image and that of a populace image. More than anything, I think this was the great clash in images tonight in the debates.

Many things might follow from watching tonight’s debate. What will be the future course be for the Democrats? Drop Biden and go with another candidate? Drag Biden over the election finish line and then retire him so his VP becomes President? Whatever happens there is a planned shifting of positions coming up it seems to me.

For the first time, a leader protected by short images and sound bites, becomes challenged in perhaps the best presidential debate in history. Moderated by CNN, it truly did everything it claimed it would do. It presented a context for the situation. And, the content of the questions to the candidates, seemed fair to me.

The feeling of this becomes stronger and stronger tonight on major cable media. There seems to be some coming together of various journalists and cultural commentators.

There is the feeling the nation has been led just by images for years. In a situation when the images could not help him, President Biden has failed miserably. I think that all types of observers would agree on this.

What does America want in a leader today?

Someone created from images or someone created from live interactions with the populace?

A few hours after the debate, it is apparent Democrat/Liberal view is in trouble based on the poor performance of Biden. There is almost universal condemnation for his performance. He sounds like a person in a retirement home. Or, one who should be in one.

The image trick is up.

For the moment.
