It is 2081 and everyone is finally equal. This equality is insured by the Handicapper General who handicaps those with more abilities, skills and intelligence than others by putting weights and devices on them that handicap them. The short science film is based on a short story “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut. It is directed by Chandler Tuttle and produced by the Moving Picture Institute (MPI). The cast is led by James Cosmo, Julie Hagerty, Arnie Hammer and Patricia Clarkson. Music by the Kronos Quartet. The story paints a picture of a future in which a powerful, dictatorial government goes to extreme measures to ensure that absolute equality exists between all individuals.
