Diego Pavia is the current sports rags to riches story. Another unlikely candidate for the fame he got when Vanderbilt, the team he quarterbacked, beat Alabama, the nation’s number one team. The closest I can tell, Vanderbilt was ranked at 73 in some poll today. Whatever poll you’re talking about, you never talked about Vanderbilt as a football powerhouse. More of an intellectual powerhouse.
The reputation of Vanderbilt had to move down a few notches today on the national football rankings. The Vanderbilt game against Alabama today was one of the most interesting I’ve ever watched. Yes, Alabama has a new coach and yes Vanderbilt has some QB named Diego Pavia. It says he’s 6 foot tall on the schedule but I doubt he’s much over 5’10”. A nice average height, but not the height for an NFL QB today.

I know that all the players in this amazing football game today had/have respect for the others. This was evident in the game.
The Vanderbilt Commodores have had a good season so far at 2-2. Yet nothing in their past performance indicated that they could knock off the nation’s number one team. This simply was not done. No outsiders were ever let into the inner sanctum. How could this happen?
Certainly, it was an amazing Vanderbilt team that simply showed up today to play, fearing no one. But what about the amazing performance of QB Diego Pavia. He had come to Vanderbilt through a long route through time at colleges. First of all, The New Mexico Military Institute. Then, New Mexico State University. And finally, Vanderbilt. And today’s historic game of being the QB of Vanderbilt’s offense and its defeat of Alabama.

I started doing some research on Diego Pavia as he seemed to have arrived at his current position in life though a number of factors. If any one would ever write a biography on Diego Pavia, they should look at the places he was educated at. One was the New Mexico Military Institute. Taking a brief look at the site for the Institute, it’s impressive the list of names associated with being graduates of the institute. There seems to be something special that many receive from this institute.
Does Diego’s time at the NM Military Institute make a difference in all of this?
Will Diego Pavia’s name continue to rise with/without the fortunes of the Vanderbilt football team?
Just a reminder that polls are merely polls …, a technique for giving many talking-heads something to discuss, debate, and talk about until run into the ground. For at least one hour of football on October 5th, Alabama was not #1 and Vanderbilt was not #73. Politicians Take Heed!

I believe perhaps going to New Mexico Military Institute could have helped Diego Pavia perform
better. I do think it is Diego Pavia’s commitment which helps him play so well and it also takes his team member to help win the game.
