Inside my fortune cookie at our favorite Thai restaurant in town, I found the following fortune.
On one side it said “A new beginning will be life-changing.” On the other side it said “Lucky numbers for the lucky one!” with “Lucky Numbers 14, 9 40, 28, 39 and 51.”

The Numbers & The QR Code
But the most surprising thing is a tiny QR code for scanning with my iPhone. It has to be the smallest QR code I’ve ever seen and it takes me to the site of maker of the fortune cookie, Wonton Food.
With origins in the Far East of the 1800s, this snack has been a big part of Wonton Food’s founder, Mr. C.S. Wong’s popular product lineup. Since early 1990, Wonton Food has been the largest manufacturer of fortune cookies. In addition to giving you inspiring messages, we learn on the Wonton Food site that numbers in their cookies have brought fortune to many individuals who have played the lottery.

I, too, would like to think the key goal of Artificial Intelligence is unity and discovery that unites people around the world, BUT …, I suppose there are those (Al Gore/John Kerry?) who could, or would, make the case that is also the key goal of the Climate Change, nee Global Warming, initiative …, as they run to their banks, that is. Remember, humans can only correct their own mistakes – not the mistakes of a greater power. AI is the work of humans, not the work of a greater power.
