A Common Victory Over The Bureaucracy

“What doctors don’t tell you is how you can cure yourself with simple changes. How the trials are rigged with funny numbers. Or how the trials never coordinate a concoction of drugs that are pushed on society. Our brains have been hypnotically deluded into believing what is wrong. Doctors have been elevated to godlike beings. But all they do is push drugs. Getting off the drugs takes courage to overcome the fears that have been instilled for decades.”

Much of Trump’s communications offers the theme of “Welcome to a new Golden Age” of America. Interestingly, perhaps Importantly, no definition of this “Golden Age” is offered. Offered up here is a piece of “cool” media in the word “age” alone. And too, the word “golden” has symbolic significance. 

Especially in the sense of our Golden State (my home state) of California. California is welded together with the words Golden State so perhaps a connection to golden age here. More than anything, it seems to me, a word that invites the views of many in defining this new “Golden Age.” A revisioning of our traditional Golden State of California? Perhaps not. 

Focus on message involves a distraction from the medium. Message and medium. It has a symbolic correspondence to the message symbolism of Western culture and the medium culture of Eastern culture. A medium of communication is different from a message of communication within this medium.

Attention might be directed to a world view that acts like Proust’s glasses in changing what we see. The world changes when a new pair of glasses are put on.

Yet the real change comes when we direct our glasses in a new direction all together. Up in a vertical position rather than forward in a horizontal position. That is, away from our traditional political party across the aisles of Congress. A conflict between messages in culture. 

What if Citizen/Voters come to see a common enemy not in other Citizen/Voters but rather in that political industrial complex called the Bureaucracy.

One goal of the government in recent history has been to maintain power by control over one-way broadcast media. But the medium of electronic technology has moved on from one way broadcast (in the early years of mass media and production) to the Interactive two-way of today’s Internet and cell phone technology.

Bureaucratic power is maintained today by directing attention away from it and fomenting societal division. The division of society is the key to the maintenance of bureaucratic power. It is the only way Bureaucracy can maintain control: by dividing the populace into two groups. 

The two groups (Parties) should not be allowed to unite against the Bureaucracy. In all of this, the Bureaucracy has worked hard. Not on messaging voters but on distracting them. In effect, looking up and vertically, away from the constant battle being fought in the horizontal world, between the two divisions of America. 

Thank god for these divisions and their continued divides says the Bureaucracy. Something if battled and overcame, for the first time in years, it truly might bring about a new unity.

Perhaps a Golden Age. 

Not for one of the parties against the other. But rather for all Citizens against the Bureaucracy.

The first sentence of something new I’m writing.

“This is not to meant to be a political post but of course it will be labeled as one as all posts are labeled today. This is sad but it’s the reality of the time we’re living in. Reality is divided into two sides and all of us are provided with information directed to reinforce this view of reality.”

In our contemporary world, two-sided communication is entrenched as a paradigm of modern communication. The “hidden elephant in the room” that no one sees. Like “water” to fish. Interesting, there is a paradox in the definition of the word “communication.” It means both “coming together” in a type of “communion.” It also means a type of transmission outward over distance.

The two opposing versions of the word “communication” are similar in many ways to the two founding, paradoxical symbols of America: Freedom (masculine) and Equality (feminine). Represented as symbols in the Republican Party (masculine, freedom, individualism, capitalism) and Democrat Party (feminine, equality, community, socialism). 

Perhaps the one key thing that has made our nation unique in history has been the founding of America at the paradoxical intersection of (as Carl Jung might have suggested if ever asked) the archetypes of the great masculine and feminine archetypes of the world. Perhaps the greatest two dynamics for all of us. These dynamics in history, psychology, philosophy, religion, literature. America is unique not because of its founding on one principle but rather on the two paradoxical symbols of masculine and feminine. 

Of course, these symbols have known each other for ever in human history. Much longer than the old Garden of Eve. They have been both hero/heroines against the villain throughout all history. Always the subject of movies and dramatic entertainment.

Really about the competing dynamics of two competing symbols for dominance in America in the symbols of masculine versus feminine. These symbols do battle in the background of our culture. Like water acts surrounding fish. Like atmosphere surround our world. A creation of nature beyond the control of human culture.

Those who at least can see (or accept the possibility of these dynamics about the world) events of current culture from a different perspective are those who see life in this duality of competing symbolism. The competing symbolism of ages of life (pre-birth as initial feeling of unity or surrounding environment). Perhaps an area that communication studies, media ecology or pre-birth philosophers are about in its key importance to life.

I understand these dynamics myself as they’ve been part of my life. Always pulled in two directions: California and Ohio; law school and artist; the big corporation and the entrepreneur; friends from a both sides of the cultural spectrum. Not bragging about this. Just stating the reality of my life. What a different, unique life from many others out there. (Might we ever create a spectrum of life change experiences inputted into a scale that matched those with similar percentages of life changes? Maybe the basis for a new dating app? Or a new political party? The last is an interesting possibility). 

Leave you with a quote from Musk. When asked about Mars, Musk said he wanted to go to Mars and die on Mars. But not die on impact.

Ah, the new breed of presidential advisors today.
