Chaos is the Meme

It’s always fun to start out the day with the gloomy comments of former Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on the “chaos” being created with the tariffs. She was on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on April 14 to discuss her thoughts on the current tariff regime. Not surprisingly, she finds things in “chaos” using the same word most Democrats use when referring to the blitzkrieg romp of the Trump administration through DC’s Bureaucracy. 

She thinks bringing back business to the U.S. is little more than a pipe dream and even doubts if it is a good idea in the first place. 

But the world “chaos” seems to me is one of the dumbest words for describing what is happening. In fact, just the opposite is happening. The new administration has plans that has been debated and discussed for years. For many, though, especially those who have grown up and been nurtured by the bureaucracy, short words like “chaos” offer quick images of what is happening today. They are made for those who have no interest in thinking about – reflecting on – things today. Just brushing the whole actions of the Trump administration as “chaos.” 

It’s purposes is to simply put an overall label on the efforts of the new administration and the completely new things they are putting forward. Mainly, to turn the economy of the nation around and stop the nation from getting ripped off by others.

The word chaos means complete disorder and confusion. It is one of those words where one metaphorically throws up their hands and says there is no way of understanding what is going on. It is one of those memes being used more and more in popular culture which make a statement that invites little comment or participation in it. It is a “hot” one-way broadcast statement rather than a “cool” statement opening itself for participation by others. 

The Mother of God: Chaos

It lets the one-word meme define the world in one words and then be done away with any more observance of what is truly happening. Then, again, maybe a good word for those who have no interest in examining reality these days. 

As I wrote in our former post on Midnight Oil, all the tariff charts show that Trump is so right on everything he says about America getting screwed. There is little chaos in these charts and anyone who looks at them can see that Trump is right about our nation being screwed by other nations around the world.

The Democrats continue to argue (like Janet Yellen) that this is an administration of “chaos.” Yet they are the party truly in chaos so much more than the Republicans. In effect, rather than ushering in chaos to the presidency and the executive branch, there has never been a more planned entrance into the presidency than with Trump 47. 

The Divine – A Hand in Keeping Trump Out of DC for Four Years?

It is somewhat funny to say this, but Trump 47 would never have been possible if Trump 45 had become Trump 46. That is, if Trump had won the election. 

People talk about the Divine having an eye on Trump and perhaps it was with this loss of the election that the Devine was looking out for Trump, even before the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania. The Devine was looking out for Trump in not letting him become the President in his second election.

In being out of office for one term and then coming back into office, Trump joins Grover Cleveland (March 18, 1837 – June 24, 1908) as the only president who successfully regained the presidency after leaving it. But Trump’s time out of office was much more productive than that of Grover Cleveland. 

Trump’s time out of DC was perhaps the most important time in American political history for seeding the ground with a new perspective on politics. This period was filled with the pandemic and one of the strangest periods of time in modern history when memories are still trying to grab hold of what really happened. 

Yet it was a period for Trump where he pulled out of the DC political complex for four years. Perhaps unfairly by a rigged election. Yet still, pulled out of the political world for a period. Enabling Trump to see the context (medium) as well as the content (messages) of the political world. 

In ways, this period was filled three major events: Trumps increasing populism via rallies, increasing lawfare against Trump and the putting together of documents (2025 Project) and a team of trusted advisors. None of this would have been possible if Trump had never left DC.”

And then, re-entered as the President. It had only been done one time before. But with Trump 47 it was done in the style of a planned battle. There was little chaos in this battle. In effect, the administration of Trump 47 has been the most non-chaotic march forward in the history of perhaps any presidency. 

So far, a brilliant execution of a forward plan that is far from chaos. 

All Change is Chaotic to the Bureaucracy

But for DC and the Bureaucracy, any change to the snail-paced speed of events in the government, to using old floppy disks, to not communicating with other computers, to speeding up retirement applications in the Pennsylvania mine, any change is chaotic.

Welcome to the chaos of modern technology in Elon Musk and Trump’s great ally in tech. 

The Democrats are in a tizzy trying to figure out who/what they are fighting these days. It is no longer just Trump but now the leading technocrat in the world, Elon Musk, Trump’s best friend and sidekick. As well as many others. Now, on the side of Trump. Something very different from four years ago. 

In effect, the Democrats are left defending an obsolete bureaucratic computer and information system against claims of Musk and his DOGE team. The systems are proving to be inefficient, redundant, and corrupt. The corruption becomes more astounding each day.

The other thing Trump is fighting for today that drives the Democrats crazy is tariffs. In other words, he is not fighting directly with them but with other nations.

Pushing the world’s greatest technology against the bureaucracy has been perhaps one of the greatest things of the current administration. The visual charts showing what other nations charge the United States prove Trump’s point so much. He should use it more often.

A battle Between Technology and Bureaucracy

A battle that had to happen, but one facilitated by a growing friendship beyween Trump & Musk. A battle between efficiency and inefficiency, speed versus slowness, old systems that don’t communicate with other computers. Retirement records processed in a cave?

But also, a battle between – not the Dems and Republicans – but America and the rest of the world. It is interesting that hardly any of the other presidential administrations brought this up in any major way. Until Trump. But the charts on tariffs are so obviously against America. All can see this. 

Not Playing the Traditional Political Game

The chaos level is pumped up in the Democrats. Trump is not playing the traditional political game of domestic politics against them. And this creates chaos in their minds. Trump needs to play the traditional game, on their field, to their rules. Or chaos is created. Chaos is created when things move off the charts of Janet Yellen. Chaos is echoed over and over each day. 

There is so much logic and reason behind what the administration is doing now. Nothing chaotic about their actions for sure. The only thing chaotic is the media blitz that tries to undermine the well thought out plan of the Trump administration. There is little chaotic about this plan.

Trump 47 is very different from Trump 45. The official presidential photos show this difference: the smiling Trump 45 and the mug shot Trump 47. The second the veteran of more challenges perhaps when out of office than when in office. There was the lawfare posy after Trump, trying their best to lock him up. And of course, the others who tried to assassinate Trump when the huge amount of lawfare directed at Trump failed to work.

The latest Trump hits DC like troops hit the beaches of Normandy. They are up and running at a hectic pace that DC is not used to. Also, there is the fire hose of news each day. Cabinet members are ushed through Congress. Musk and DOGE given access to the bureaucracy’s major departments and agencies. 

The Bureaucracy & Tariffs

The Deep State for Trump 45 has disappeared and become the Bureaucracy for Trump 47. The corruption much greater than being simply in the Deep State. Rather it was in the entire Bureaucracy and its outdated information system, creating terrible inefficiency, waste, and fraud. Yet allowing many to get wealthy through its current system. 

Trump 47 has access to the greatest technologists in the world. This would have been almost opposite for Trump 45. But now, one of the huge issues of the new administration is Trump going not after the Dem Party but the entire government Bureaucracy. Huge corruption is being uncovered. 

Also, the source of wealth changes from income taxes to tariffs. Trump becomes busy interviewing world leaders who have come to DC to make a deal with Trump. The President seems in his element more than at any other time. He is working numerous deals each day. Not just with tariffs but other leaders in our world so tense with war.

Both issues hard for the Dems to fight back against Trump on. For one, they can’t really fight back against the corruption and inefficiency in government that DOGE has found. What can they say to the fact that billions of corruptness have been found. Far greater than anyone suspected. 

The Bureaucracy & Technology

In effect, the bureaucracy is not capable of matching the technology of the Trump administration. The rebirth of the world’s greatest technologist and wealthiest person from darling of the Liberals to a Conservative patriot. Bringing others in the AI world and the great tech leaders with him.

The change has been stunning and has put the resources of the world’s greatest technology behind the current administration giving it acess to AI technology and some of the greatest programmers in this area. Something that has never happened before in the American presidency: the bureaucracy confronts not another political party but rather the entire exam it is given by technology. Much of its corruption exposed and many of the information “threads” pulled together through the DOGE team.

This is the “chaos” others call the Trump administration as it moves toward each day through the bureaucracy.
