The Orange No Storm King Attempts to Make the Storm Go Away

As usual, Ohio weather is unpredictable. Today is Founders Day in New Albany, Ohio and it has that unpredictable look to it. Grey clouds overhead. The event in town just three house away.
I walked up to the area where everythig was set up with my cameras. Dark skies and much wind and the orange “Storm King” above the area was wavering in the wind trying to make the storm go away. Storm warnings were on the radio as I took some video and photos of the event happening in about three hours. As I walk to photograph this area, food trucks come into the area and begin to unload.
But the overall image that hovered over the world when I went up to document images, was the symbol of a waving orange form with a face against the dark grey of the ominous storm clouds. This orange wavering short video I got (a the top) was really an inspiration to me.
The wavering figure seemed so much a symbol to me. A symbol that I somehow had an “appointment” to meet this Saturday morning a few hours before the festivities.

Top of the Library Like a Tower Watching for the Storm
I took the photo of the library tower (above) as representing another symbol to me. I didn’t have a tripod but needed to steady my camera. I found the lid of a nearby trash-can behind the library to rest my camera on. It seems such a lookout tower for that to come. Since the architecture of New Albany is Georgian, it would be interesting to find the symbolism of these watchtowers during the Georgian period.

The big storm never came and the events went on in the afternoon. The sun came out and the temperature even reached into the 70s. One of the nicer days we’ve had in a difficult Spring in Central Ohio.

Remarkable images and video you captured in what appears to be a rather threateningly dark sky about to burst into rain at any moment. And, the show went ahead as scheduled.
