An Early Morning Walk

An early morning walk in New Albany’s Taylor Park. The park is on the site of the Taylor Farm which had been a farm dating back to the 1800s. In 1822, Anthony Wayne Taylor and his family first settled in the area. From a humble log cabin to the grand brick home standing today in Taylor Farm Park, their journey is a testament to the region’s early settlers.

But on my walk today, really my first longer walk in Taylor Park, in the eastern sunlight coming straight at my hiking path through the park.

I was so moved by the beauty of everything in these early morning hours of the day or those hours photographers call the “magic” hour because sunlight shines at a lower point of light. That is, the most direct time for sunlight is this magic time. I didn’t intend the short little film to be about “magic” time in film. Yet I feel it expresses this magic time well in the images captured.
