Dynamite to Kim’s Socialism?

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un feels the rise of K-Pop music and its fans as a serious threat to socialism. A news story states “Leaked documents from the North Korean government show Kim is running an anti-K-Pop campaign against what he calls the ‘vicious cancer’ of South Korean pop groups.”

The documents, detailed in the New York Times, rip the K-Pop music genre for spreading ‘anti-socialist’ sentiment and corrupting the “attire, hairstyles, speech, behaviors” of the youth. On the surface, it sounds eerily similar to what American parents once said about Elvis and the Beatles. Of course, the punishment back then was grounding, but Kim, known as a brutal dictator, is ordering a crackdown against K-Pop fans.

It’s  hard to say how far Kim would go to stem what he sees as a cultural invasion from South Korea and its boy bands. While BTS and other K-pop groups are hurling infectious hits like “Dynamite” from BTS at Kim Jong-un. They are similar to musical, cultural, explosives. Lobbed northward at Kim’s North Korea. And, driving him crazy.

This music that drives Kim mad is called K Pop that’s short for Korean popular music. Originating in South Korea as part of their culture, its influenced by styles and genres from around the world, such as pop, experimental, rock, jazz, gospel, hip hop, R&B, reggae, electronic, dance, folk , country and classical. Others, if worth in the first place it to even try to come up with others.  Heard above on the video on this blog is BTS and their “Dynamite.”

Think about it while listening to the music on the video above. The top South Korean group that is driving Kim’s crazy right now. Might BTS and the South Korean Boy Bands be the first inroads into that grand wall of communism represented by Kim>
